1969 Chevrolet Camaro 327cui / First registration in Germany

However, for those who have always fancied a ‘better-than-new’ first-series Camaro with superb driving characteristics and in absolutely perfect condition, we have just the right driving machine here, which we are offering on behalf of a customer:
According to the trim tag, construction of this Chevrolet Camaro began in September 1968 at the Norwood plant in Ohio. It was originally equipped with a 5. 4-litre V8 engine (Turbo-Fire 327) in combination with a 2-gear Powerglide automatic transmission. The first owner ordered his Camaro in ‘Cortez Silver’ paint with a deluxe interior including centre console and front lap belts, power steering, front disc brakes with brake booster – and an original odometer and orange front indicators.
Because this Camaro went straight from the factory in Ohio onto a ship bound for Bremerhaven and was first registered in Düsseldorf on 10 January 1969! Its owner enjoyed his Camaro in Germany for five years until it was taken off the road and then decommissioned in 1974.
It took 40 years before a dealer rediscovered it in 2014 – in a pitiful condition. It took the dealer a year to restore it thoroughly before it was awarded its historic registration plate in 2015.
Well, and then the current owner bought this Camaro and, over several years and with the help of a lot of money, transformed it into what we consider to be near-perfect condition.

Complete rebuild of the bodywork including tin plating, polyester coating and solid paintwork in deep black, overhaul of the interior, extensive revision of the chassis, transmission and engine. The work on the engine was carried out by none other than Peter Schöfer & Team in Moosburg, who only installed the really good parts.
The driving pleasure? Terrific! The condition of the vehicle? Better than new! The price? Absolutely justified!
