Description
Nice little original 1976 Honda XL 175. This is a slightly older restoration. Sporting low mileage. But has had new crank bearings and top end (camshaft and chain) in my ownership. Tires, wheels, sprockets good condition. All electrics work as they should. Runs and rides perfectly. Paintwork in great condition. Only issue is a small dent on the left hand side of the fuel tank (see pictures). Road registered as historic vehicle, therefore it's tax and MOT exempt. The 1976 Honda XL175 in gleaming Blue is a time-capsule gem from the heart of Honda’s golden dual-sport era. Introduced in 1973, the XL175 quickly became a global favourite for its feather-light 117 kg kerb weight, torquey 173 cc SOHC four-stroke single, slick five-speed box, and genuine dirt capability on a bike you could legally ride to the trail. By 1976 Honda had dialled it in perfectly: higher 9. 3:1 compression for livelier response, upgraded oiling, stronger frame, longer-travel front forks, and that unmistakable high-rise exhaust tucked safely out of harm’s way. Dressed in Honda’s factory Blue and complemented by chrome fenders and blacked-out engine cases, it’s one of the cleanest, most eye-catching colour schemes of the entire XL run. First-kick starts, bulletproof reliability, and nimble handling made it the go-to choice for weekend trail riders and commuters alike back in the day; today a well-preserved blue 1976 XL175 is a fast-appreciating classic that still begs to be ridden hard on backroads and fire trails. Simple, tough, beautiful: this is the Honda that taught a generation what real go-anywhere freedom feels like.
