Description
1974 Norton Commando for restoration.......
Obviously in need of restoration but oh what a fabulous machine to do it on. Genuine UK bike and not yet another USA import!
According to a vehicle search it was last taxed in 1978!
It has a nice registration, low owners (3) and low mileage (10k) and matching numbers (headstock plate corroded away though). Fabulous that it has the correct seat with the kick up on the pan which new seats dont have - the brackets have come away but still under the knobs, certainly repairable.
I have no idea when it was last run but it kicks over well with no untoward noises. Inside the oil tank it looks lovely and the visible oil is very clean. Inside of the fuel tank is some surface rust but obviously drained a long time ago as no gunge there that I can see. Perhaps with new fluids and a battery it will run and you could always do the barest of minimums, ride and enjoy the patina?
The perfect winter project and self Xmas gift :)
