Description
Here we have a beautiful Carrera 2. 7 in “Light RS-Style” from 1974. US-spec with 175PS (engine type 911/ 93) and the factory “ducktail”. Electric windows, tinted glass, 5-speed gearbox. New Blaupunkt radio and the original Frankfurt Blaupunkt radio is included, if you want you can reinstall the original, the wiring loom remains largely original. I swapped it because I drove nearly 1, 700 km in one stretch and it annoyed me having to manually search for a station every 2 minutes. The engine and gearbox are said by the previous owner to have been overhauled once, but there are no records. I can confirm, however, that the car drives well, the engine runs cleanly and contrary to the factory claim you can cruise on the motorway with only around 10 L/ 100 km; as mentioned, I did 1, 700 km in one go, now over 2, 000 km in total. There is also a birth certificate for the vehicle and although the engine matches the factory spec, the stamped engine number (one of the numbers) is hard to read.
It was delivered in Grand Prix White and the previous owner had it repainted Porsche Silver. Personally I find the colour change very nice and I prefer the current colour combination to the original shade.
From the previous owner it was taken to a Porsche specialist in May 2025, who again attended to the entire engine setup, and also changed the ignition and fuel-injector valves. So there is currently no work needed, just sit in and drive. Service costs came to €3, 500. I have now in November 2025 again changed the engine oil and filter, of course original Porsche Classic oil 20W50 as befits a 2. 7l!!
The braking system is like new, the master cylinder as well as various brake lines were replaced, and of course the brake fluid. I also replaced all four shock absorbers, the damping was still OK, but some oil seepage prompted me to replace everything. At the front also new strut mounts. Four new tyres and anyone familiar with 15-inch wheels knows how difficult it is to obtain rear tyres in that size. I used stock/ new stock here but, as mentioned, new tyres, front Pirelli DOT 2225, rear Dunlop DOT 2219. PU bushings were fitted to all suspension parts to ensure long-lasting, stable characteristics.
The interior is in excellent condition, all well maintained, not only by the last owner. There is a comprehensive dossier on the car, all previous owners are listed with names and addresses, various documentation, partly handwritten invoices, etc.—in short, a folder full of information about the vehicle.
The Fuchs wheels are by Maxilite, painted red and they also suit the colour scheme very well. One could enhance the RS-Style further, converting to 16-inch wheels, replacing the rear bumper, etc.—whatever you like. Red-painted S brake calipers at the front, a Porsche fire extinguisher.
The previous owner removed the heat exchangers and installed a spaghetti exhaust.
This is number 525 of only 528 Carrera built in 1974. The stopwatches visible in the photos are not part of the car and are not for sale. By the way, the clock doesn’t work; I haven’t had time to check yet. I have replaced the H4 bulbs with officially approved Philips LED bulbs, so you can see a bit at night now.
The costs for the German registration are included in the price, so no surprises for the buyer; delivery can be to 67591 Offstein, or by arrangement with the buyer. In Offstein lives a friend of mine who can arrange the full MOT under §21/ 23 so the buyer only has to go to the registration office. The vehicle currently has French paperwork, so a full inspection and new TUV is necessary, even though the vehicle passed the TUV in September 2025. There are plenty of photos in my cloud; on request I will grant access to serious buyers after an initial chat.
The mileage is counted in miles, the speed in Km/ h. Currently the car has 101, 321 miles on the clock, about 163, 000 km. A folder full of information, various invoices, original service book but not fully completed. Registered in Europe for more than 8 years.
