First registered 12th September 1979, an I've had it for about 5 years.
This BMW R100 RT is in remarkable condition, and as a tourer it is a beautifully balanced bike which is agile, responsive, comfortable and economical. Around town, perhaps with the panniers removed, it can weave through traffic as easily as any other.
This bike has had 3 or 4 previous owners. There is early service history, and receipts for the parts purchased.
In the top tube you will find the security strap to imobilise the bike, but is of historical interest only as the key has been lost by a previous owner.
It does come with the origanal hanbook and first aid kit as supplied by BMW in 1979. I suspect the kit may not be clinically clean.
This bike has covered 44688 miles, and has been renovated, but not restored, back to a good condition, with:
New seals, rings, valve guides, and filters for the engine;
The battery has been replaced;
New tubes in tyres.,
and the brake master and slave cylinders have been resealed.
The new neutral switch in gearbox won’t talk to the green neutral light on the dashboard, but I can’t figure out why. Pulling in the clutch easily overcomes that.
The bike is being sold as advertised and/ or as seen.

The first is a walk-round of the bike without panniers so that you can see the whole bike with the ability to pause at anything of particular interest to you.
The second is with the engine running, and you can just see from the tacho that it's taken up to 5000 revs, and then left to come down to a smooth tickover.
Why am I selling? Because infirmity makes me unsafe. It is classified as a historic vehicle and is therefore free of tax and MOT.
