Description
This is a very unusual Rover P4 60 pick up truck. Rover did not make any of these. This vehicle, I believe, suffered some rear end damage decades ago and was turned into a pick up.
The 1997cc engine is basically the same as a 4 cylinder Series 1 Land Rover with the addition of a combined alloy cylinder head & inlet manifold, SU carburettor producing 60 BHP as opposed to 50BHP of the Land Rover.
It used to belong to the President of the Rover P4 Drivers Guild and was subsequently sold to an engineer in Devon who spent some considerable time and money on the vehicle with a completely rebuilt engine, alloy radiator & electric fan, new clutch, installation of an overdrive gearbox, rebuilt braking system, new rear springs & shock absorbers, Morris Minor bucket seats, some chassis welding and much more. Approximate cost of parts £2500I bought this vehicle to use as a nostalgic runabout but, have not had the time to complete a new pick up bed. The car deserves to go to someone with the time and imagination to finish the project to their own specification
It runs very well and is roadworthy
