Hello and welcome to the advert for my beautiful Iberischrot pre facelift automatic 728.
Being a pre facelift means you get to enjoy the pure design of the original shark nose, plus the delicately integrated short rear bumper - where later cars the bumper extends down the sides of the car. It also means this car is now registered as Historic, which gives it a tax and mot exemption.
As you can see, this car is in incredible condition. The shut lines are impeccable with no signs of accident damage and the interior reflects its low mileage. Apologies for the lack of photos I will be uploading more next week.
The car currently shows around 7500 miles. The history with the car shows that this was bought from a deceased estate, and the gentleman that bought it, wrote to the widow (all correspondence included) to find out about the cars history, where it is mentioned at the time of having low 40k miles. The full details are in the history file and I have every document scanned for a new buyer to read through and confirm. I have no question of it’s mileage authenticity, as the condition is actually better than my 48k miles 2018 BMW 3 SERIES.
I have used this car sparingly over the last 4 years years, and I had every intention of mechanically restoring it to be used for family trips to the coast this year. However, with my wedding and home renovations coming up I think its time someone else gets to enjoy this car.
When I bought the car, it had a blowing gasket on #6 cylinder. I have since replaced this and it now runs beautifully. I have also given it a multiple fresh services yearly. The gearbox changes gear smoothly and quietly. The cruise control works and all electrics apart from those mentioned below. The brakes have recently been overhauled.
The rear suspension knocks over bumps. I suspect this is the subframe or differential mounts but I haven’t had chance to get it on a ramp over the Christmas period.
Electrically, there are a couple of issues which I suspect to be minor, seeing as these are not complicated cars, but I just haven’t had time to diagnose them.
Electric sunroof moves slowly, sometimes not at all - suspect it needing a new motor or cleaning up.
Central locking works for 2 doors and the boot, but the other 2 are currently not operating. I have looked spares up and are available on Ebay.
The key to these cars is to buy on condition. So if you want a really lovely car that is priced to reflect some usual minor classic car foibles, then please come over and view my 728. You won’t be disappointed.
