Honda Africa Twin XRV750 RD07 – 1994
This is a genuinely well-looked-after example of the legendary Africa Twin RD07, a bike that needs little introduction to those who know them. Built in the era when Honda was over-engineering everything, the XRV750 earned its reputation for reliability, comfort and mile-eating ability both on road and off it — and good, original examples are now getting increasingly hard to find.
This bike has been owned by one lady for 27 years (1998–2025) and has clearly been cared for rather than just used. Around 99% of its life has been on the road, which shows in how it rides and how tight it feels for its age.
It has 78, 000 miles, but it still drives really well. Anyone familiar with these bikes knows mileage matters far less than maintenance, and this one has a full service history with an extensive folder of paperwork plus a service book that’s so full it needs replacing. It even retains its original tax discs, which is becoming rare in itself.
The output shaft is in good used condition for the age, helped by the super pinion — an important point for anyone who knows these engines.
Recent work / light restoration (2025)
The bike has recently undergone a light restoration and thorough mechanical refresh, including:
• New Dunlop Trailmax Raid tyres
• New Motobatt battery
• Heated grips
• New screen
• Refurbished trip computer
• New fork oil
• New fork gaiters
• Full service: oil, oil filter, spark plugs, fuel filter
• New carburettor gasket
• New rocker cover gasket
• New Facet fuel pump (reliable upgrade)
• Handlebar risers
• Barkbusters
• CNC short levers
• SW-Motech foot pegs
• New OEM indicators
• New front brake discs
• New speedo cable
• Refurbished crash bars
It has clearly been given some proper TLC recently, not just a quick tidy-up for sale.
The RD07 is widely regarded as one of the best versions of the Africa Twin — lighter and more refined than the earlier RD04, yet still simple, robust and characterful compared to later bikes. These are now appreciating classics, and original, well-maintained examples like this are becoming harder to come by every year.
The price is firm and reflects the condition, history, and recent work carried out.
If you’re looking for a sorted, honest Africa Twin with real provenance rather than a shiny unknown, this is a very good example
