Description
This Defender has arrived direct from the RNLI and has been owned and maintained by them from new. It has been based at Blackpool lifeboat station and has covered 169, 000 miles and has been very well maintained and serviced in the RNLI workshop
Not your usual 2000 year station wagon, this has been fitted by the RNLI with the rare and sought after Land Rover 2. 8 TGV engine, the 300TDi’s big brother and produces 135hp with much increased torque over the TD5 model so more suitable for pulling lifeboats at slow speed and less electronics. excellent spec with galvanised chassis, bulkhead and wheels, General Grabbers all round, snorkel etc.
Has been subjected to a major overhaul at great expense in recent years by one of the country’s leading Land Rover rebuilders and suppliers of parts, this work was a nut and bolt body off rebuild including fitment of a galvanised chassis, galvanised bulkhead, 4 new doors, full repaint, new galvanised wheels with stainless wheel nuts, chassis cleaning jets fitted to clean underbody after wading with a standard hose, new seats all round, mats removed and new floor fitted and finished in raptor finish for easy cleaning. The seats are grey hard wearing material and are in great condition.
Mechanically very good indeed, pulls like a train from low revs, starts runs and drives very well indeed. Excellent general grabber tyres all round.
Has some marks and signs of use from being a working RNLI vehicle but in overall great condition.
This Defender has been future proofed so it will last for a very long time. A very rare spec and the usual problem areas on land rovers have all been replaced. Current MOT until June but can be extended if required.
USA exportable
This will make a great vehicle for someone to use daily or keep in a collection.
