Description
Originally made for the UK market (RHD) in May 1954, Black paint and Red trim (Certified Factory Record). Great set of documents and some detailed history. A number of owners (Skipton area) up to 1971, then fully restored by Naylor Brothers (Shipley) over a number of years (all documented). Owner moved to California in 1976 and took the MG. Then returned, with the car in 1980 and stored it in a garage (engine run regularly) until 2014. Then professionally restored a second time, including deep blue paint, refurbished leather, black powder coated wheels, etc. by Yorkshire Classics & Sports Cars. I purchased it in 2020 and have continued to improve it. It has always been stored in a garage and only driven on dry days. Over the last 6 years I have spent £4, 000 on the following age correct parts, battery, carb. rebuild, clutch, coil, heater, door handles, plates, spare wheel, tracker/ immobilizer, starter handle, side screen repaint & re-vinyl, petrol tank straps, radiator, rear apron, timing chain, under dash, wipers, head lights wiper motor, Evans Classic Cool, starter motor, stainless exhaust and more, all listed. As you can see, the car is in excellent condition and has no modern style parts. No clip ties, etc. It starts instantly and drives like new, with very no rattles and tight suspension & steering. I have an up to date V5C, showing 1 previous owner and a first registered date of 1954. Reluctant sale to make garage space form my next project. I bought is because while it is an original 1945 car it looks and drives like new. The dark blue paint sets it apart from other MG TFs and the black (racing style) wire wheels really set it off. The chassis and underside were painted at the last rebuild and also look like new. It is easy to work on and just makes you want to continue the originality.
