Description
As per the headline I’m selling a Ducati 888 SP5, original, lovingly cared for by an amateur, with me for over ten years, ridden with around a hundred kilometres per year, oil change every year plus normal maintenance, subjected to a conservative restoration, fuel pump, belts, all rubber hoses replaced, throttle bodies cleaned, rear sprocket and chain replaced, fork and rear shock serviced, lithium battery, added raised original-era racing flyscreen, had MARVIC order magnesium three-spoke wheels as per competition spec with the rear at 6 inches, Brembo radial pump, aluminium footpegs raised and adjustable from the era, all documentable, ASI registered as a vehicle of historic interest. A motorcycle that has never raced even though it has circuit-ed a few times in its life, never crashed, all parts are original to the era and available. Not to dwell on the history, 500 were made worldwide, many destroyed for races; I rode it back then, not with this one obviously, many bikes “pasticciate” about ex-track machines, here you also get the original-era double keys. I think I’ve been quite thorough but if you have questions feel free to write. First contact by email. The price is steep, I know, negotiable within the bounds of common sense; I welcome dreamers because that’s the point of owning certain bikes, if you’re too rational and don’t feel nostalgia for the 80s/ 90s, move on.
