A fantastic example of the legendary C55 AMG wagon (S203) powered by the naturally aspirated 5. 4-litre V8 – one of AMG’s finest engines. This car offers old-school AMG character with epic performance and an incredible soundtrack, and it’s presented in fabulous condition throughout.
Only 595 variants of the C55 estate were produced worldwide and only 55 examples came to the UK. This is a very rare car compared to the 4000+ saloon C55's built.
In period the C55 estate (S203) was also a F1 Safety Car. The front-end is therefore much stiffer than the C32 which it replaced and helps the car handle extremely well.

The car benefits from a superb service history and has clearly been maintained by enthusiasts with no expense spared on the important mechanical and cosmetic details. It also benefits from the cheaper VED tax band (£430 rather than £790 from April 2026) given it was registered before 23 March 2006. Further good news is that it is ULEZ compliant. It can also achieve 30mpg (motorway run) and obviously much less when desired!

This is a rare opportunity to own a properly sorted C55 AMG, a future modern classic that delivers epic performance every time you drive it. Originally a Mercedes-Benz Birmingham dealership demonstrator model. A Knightsbridge based countrywide hotelier (and Mercedes enthusiast) purchased it in 2005 where it was kept by their family until 2024.
There is a substantial service and maintenance history file. Originally looked after by MB in West London, there is a gap (2012-2018) but from 2018 the service history is impressive. Specialists in London with receipts showing comprehensive servicing work and maintenance carried out (see history summary image). The previous owner to me lavished an incredible amount of love (and new parts) on this car as highlighted below:
-Replacement genuine used Mercedes-Benz parcel shelf (typically over £600 from dealer).
-Left cylinder bank intake pipe. Genuine Mercedes-Benz item A209 528 02 07.
-Mercedes-Benz rocker cover gaskets & oil level sensor, brake pads at main service @ 103, 321 including spark plugs.
-Genuine Mercedes-Benz oil cooler gasket replacement.
-Genuine Mercedes-Benz Poly V-belt & pulley, INA tensioner, Artex water pump.
-Genuine Mercedes-Benz water pump gaskets.
-Front lower suspension overhaul including Control arms and ARB drop-links. Parts sourced from Mercedes-Benz Edinburgh, LSH Auto (Mercedes-Benz Birmingham), and Euro Car Parts.

The interior has held-up very well for the car's age and use. There are some cabin items such as door pulls/ arms with some scratches but these are minimal against the overall excellent condition of the car. The dashboard top is in perfect condition without cracks.
The paddle shift buttons work exactly as they should. I have had x3 new parking sensors fitted and the front and rear PDC works perfectly.
Air conditioning and heaters work very effectively without issues, as do the front heated seats.
The internal lighting and switch gear are all operational, including the 12V cigarette lighter for phone charging. Speakers are Harmon-Kardon.
The headunit works but given it is over 20 years old a more modern apple/ android friendly unit can be added without difficulty (I am told) and with a surround that means it will integrate perfectly. There is a factory bluetooth device (in the centre armrest) but connectivity is patchy.
I bought the C55 with the intention of using it as a daily driver (these cars really do benefit from being used) but I work on a farm where access is via rutted dirt tracks! Given the seemingly relentless wet weather I put the car in storage and bought an ML! Having pondered on what to do I reached the conclusion that I should sell the C55 as I simply will not get the desired use out of it.
