Citroen BX 14RE Mk1 1983 LHD
Probably the oldest surviving BX, especially in this condition.
Extremely rare, period blue over blue. Blue bumpers, dashboard, carpet, seats, headlining. Utterly 1980’s.
Totally useable and drives wonderfully. This BX is in time warp condition considering it is over 43 years.
Excellent history and a nice story.
This car has been part of my collection for the last 6 years, but a move means that several cars need to go. This one is too nice to be sat around.
The bodywork is excellent, no big damage, dents or scrapes, you may find the odd tiny stone chip but for 43 years old it is fabulous. It was resprayed in c. 2018 and has lived inside since,
The wheels are in excellent condition and the tyres are as new premium tyres in the correct size.
No trims or pieces are mission, it is incredibly original.
The interior is in excellent condition with only minor sun fading to some materials, but this is part of the cars history and age. Nothing is broken or missing and it all works. The dashboard is a french work of art and again all works.
Underneath the car is amazingly preserved, it’s not covered in stone chip or undersell, it’s very original, and weld free. No rust and many of the painted parts such as subframes are as new,
Engine and mechanically it is very good if not perfect. The suspension is fully working and within the last month had a full rubber pipe replacement meaning they are good for another 40+ years. All metal pipes are perfect. The engine has been fully serviced, no cambelts to mess with and it starts and goes perfectly. The brakes are as sharp as ever. The exhaust is new.
This car glides along as a BX should, no knocks or bangs.
Being an early BX and a smaller engine model, there is no power steering, but it is light enough to easily park, but there is a 5 speed gearbox which goes into gear perfectly.
Any inspection welcome, the car comes with a few minor spares, some paint also, but this is an extremely tidy, useable, rare BX which you will struggle to find anywhere else, especially in the U. K.
