Description
For sale is my 2007 BMW E61 550i SE, finished in Deep Sea Blue Metallic over Nasca Beige leather interior. I believe this to be one of only two UK cars (1 of 3 in Europe, the 3rd being a German registered car) with this exterior and interior combination. It's completely unmodified with the exception of the wheels (originals included) and drives beautifully. This isn't your average 5 Series, it's likely one of the highest spec and most original E61 Tourings remaining in the UK, with excellent provenance.

I believe the complete options list exceeds £14k. This was a £60k+ car in 2007, equivalent to over £100, 000 today.
Condition:
Exterior - With the exception of the front bumper, the car has original BMW factory paint all round. There are a couple of very small (fingernail-sized) dents on the rear quarter and some superficial scratches & stone chips. Additionally, there are a couple of very small areas where paintwork has started to bubble - one is at the top of the offside rear arch and the other is near the bottom of the nearside rear arch (both pictured). If I was keeping the car longer term I'd probably want to freshen up the front-end paint given the stone chips and a small area of lacquer peel on the front bumper. Otherwise, the paintwork is in great condition for the age. The Style 118 wheels are unmarked; no kerbing, scratches or any notable marks and wrapped in new, matching Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport tyres, with 6. 5mm tread all round. The car is in excellent condition considering it's 19 years old. Any wear is no more significant than what even the harshest critic would consider commensurate with age and use.
Interior - The condition of the interior is even better than the exterior. As well as being really supple, Nasca leather also appears to be hard-wearing as there isn't a rip or tear anywhere. A special mention has to go to this generation of BMW's Comfort seats, these are by far the most comfortable seats I've ever experienced in any generation of BMW; multi-way adjustable, heated, ventilated and massage function options are extremely hard to come by on this generation. The optional factory Sport steering wheel still retains the grain in the leather which is yet another example of how well the car has been cared for. The only signs of internal wear are some scratches and chips in the plastic finish on the grab handle on the driver's door and the area around the engine start button. It's very clean and tidy otherwise. I'm the 4th owner, having bought it from a close friend in July 2025 who had owned it himself since October 2024 (neither of us keep cars for long periods). Prior to that, the 2nd owner had the car since 2011. The car benefited from a BMW warranty from new until 2024 when it was traded in to a local specialist dealer (James Glen) who deals in premium or special/ niche vehicles - their usual acceptance criteria is vehicles under 5 years old but such was the history & condition of this 550i they couldn't pass on the opportunity to retail it.

In November 2025 I had a major service carried out by Automek, a renowned performance specialist here, who changed the engine oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filters & spark plugs. Whilst with Automek, I also had the following additional work carried out:

Other work/ maintenance undertaken in in my ownership includes:

* Nov 2025 - New BMW front wiper linkage/ assembly & new Bosch wipers all round
* Mar 2026 - BMW replacement power steering pump (Good, used - OEM part is NLA) and new PS belt & deflection bearing
All maintenance (and associated costs) in my ownership have been itemised and can be proven with corresponding invoices totalling just under £4k.
The history file also contains numerous BMW invoices for various parts replaced under BMW warranty, such as:

* 2022 - New Active Steering Control Unit, £1064
* 2022 - New N/ S front headlight, £1056
* 2024 - New battery, £430
I also sourced a set of 18" BMW Style 118 wheels (E6x 6 Series wheels) to go with the new Michelin tyres. I think they really complement the car whilst retaining the SE aesthetic and compliant ride. The standard 17" Style 244 wheels will be included in the sale (one photo in the ad showing these on the car) however they ideally need a refurb and definitely require new tyres.
I'd love to keep hold of the 550i as it's incredibly comfortable & capable - I think it's probably unrepeatable in this specification too - but I currently daily a similar(ish) car and I have the opportunity to buy another car I've been after for some time, so the 550i will need to go. I think this is a great opportunity for a fellow enthusiast to pick up one of the last remaining well-maintained and original E61s, especially one with this level of specification & history.
