Description
BSA A65 Lightning for sale. Built in 1971 , first registered 1st Jan 1973. Matching original frame and engine numbers. Dating and build certificate from the BSA owners club . In superb running order and looks a million dollars.
It has been completely rebuilt over this winter with more than £4, 000 spent on new parts including Boyer electronic ignition, new Amal 930 carbs,+40 rebore, pistons & rings, new wheels & tyres . A full written and photographic log has been kept of the rebuild . I have restored many bikes and cars (and a lorry!) over the years – this is my 2nd A65 rebuild and I now teach classic vehicle apprentices. As far as I know I am the 3rd owner and have spoken with the previous owner who had it in the 70’s.
It is for sale now as I have reached an age where my knees are demanding an electric boot. (It has 10:1 high compression pistons).
It has passed it’s MoT (although strictly speaking it is exempt) I like to have my classics tested by a third party for peace of mind. It is registered historic and I have the V5c in my name. It is taxed and ready to go. NO UNACCOMPANIED TEST RIDES.
I am open to sensible offers – however do not confuse this with some tarted up relics you see for sale. I have spent a lot of enjoyable workshop time and done this properly. In superb running order and looks a million dollars. Handles better than my K75
