Description
A very low milage example of this British built classic. Cherished for decades but has been somewhat neglected for a number of years and needs a new owner who will return her to her former glory!
She was running and used on special occasions until failing to start 2 years ago and my late father never got round to getting her back up and running. He very much intended to. We don't think it will take much. A local garage had done work on it in recent years and she had been running beautifully.
After losing her garage a number of years ago she has been sitting outside under a bespoke cover but she has suffered as a result. The worst effected area is the drivers door as shown. There are other areas of light rust where water has pooled - but nothing too serious.
Inside the seats and carpet are in seemingly good condition. The woodwork is flaking as a result of the damp and needs a sand and varnish.
Overall I'd say this is a car that wouldn't take much to get back up and running and looking great once more. Always a head turner and a pleasure to drive and be driven in.
If I had the space I'd keep her. This was our wedding car and my father's pride and joy. We would love her to go to a good home where she can receive the attention and love she so deserves. Go on - treat yourself! The number plate alone worth 3K+ but we're selling her with her true identity. What others do afterwards is up to them!My father was this cars 3rd owner and bought her 15 years ago from a local gentleman (with fine taste) who had owned and cherished her since the 1970's. Dad had seen this car in and around Abingdon for years and always dreamt of owning it. When she came up for sale he couldn't resist.
Dad only drove her on local trips around Abingdon and the surrounding countryside. It was almost as if he felt he wasn't worthy of such a grand motorcar! She was also used for various weddings - including my own. A real head turner that now needs TLC before creating more memories for the next discerning owner.
They really don't make em like this anymore and how satisfying it would be to return her to her glory days... and it wouldn't take much. Film / TV work and weddings also a potential money earner. I'll stop now before I decide to keep her!
