There are a few bits that aren’t perfect:
• The leather trim has done the “Mk1 V70 thing and started shrink and come free from the door cards. I have been looking on Ebay ever since I have had the car, but with no luck as they have all done it
• If you were being really picky, the paint on the roof isn’t as amazing as the rest of the car. Saying that, no-one else has ever noticed.
Other than these bits, the Volvo has been meticulously maintained & is in exceptional condition for it’s age. This has to be one of the best series 1 V70’s on still on the road
My original intention had to make this a show car, but other projects mean this amazing Volvo deserves to be with someone who really will appreciate it. I bought this V70 last year through pure nostalgia, having loved the shape of the “sporty” 90s Volvos and the sound of the 5-cylinder engine when I was young and I am glad to say it lives up to every expectation I had! Even the smell of the interior is pure “Volvo” and I will be really sad to part with it.
I had known of the car for several years beforehand and when the chance came to buy it, I jumped at it.
There are files and files of paperwork documenting it’s history from new and it shows in the condition of the car.
It drives just how you expect it to for an old barge with the turbo and auto box making it literally waft along the road it comfort from the massive leather seats that you just don’t get any more.
Every time I drive it, I wonder why everyone decided characterless SUVs became what we aspired too because this Volvo has more charm, comfort and power than anything that they make today.
My original intention had to make this a show car, but other projects mean this amazing Volvo deserves to be with someone who really will appreciate it whether as a daily driver or as an appreciating classic that is getting rarer and rarer on the UK roads.
