Description
Restored Military Jeep M201 Diesel – Indenor Engine – Long-Term Ownership
This Jeep was purchased in 2008 in very poor condition, after having been stored for four years under an apple tree at a horse stable. What followed was a complete and meticulous restoration project carried out between 2008 and 2013, with continuous mechanical improvements since then.
The vehicle was fully dismantled down to the chassis, allowing a thorough rebuild using numerous new components.
Restoration and mechanical work include:
Complete disassembly to the bare chassis
Replacement of all bolts and a large number of mechanical components
New body tub installed
Axle shafts replaced
Electrical system completely rebuilt with a modern fuse box
Gearbox rebuilt in 2019
New starter motor and alternator (2019 / 2020)
New water pump (2021)
Bosch injection pump professionally rebuilt (March 2024)
Fuel tank replaced (March 2024) – the previous one had already been replaced in 2012
New wheel cylinders (2025)
5 brand-new military tyres (March 2024)
The engine has been regularly serviced by a professional diesel specialist, and fluids have been changed consistently.
This Jeep is driven regularly, typically 1, 000 to 3, 000 km per year, which keeps it in good running condition.
The vehicle is registered with French historic registration (“Carte grise collection”), and the technical inspection is valid until March 2029.
The Jeep is sold without canvas top.
A full set of photos is available showing the vehicle at the time of purchase, during the restoration, and in its current condition.
