Description
Rare survivor Pontiac Bonneville 400 4 Door Hardtop. These cars are now starting to appreciate in value as so few original ones survive. First registered on July 19th 1967 in Gastonia North Carolina, copy of original USA “Title” included in the sale.
I am only the second owners of the car having imported it from the USA in June 2021
Registered by the DVLA in August 2021
First MOT in September 2021 and current MOT valid until September 2026.
Road Tax and MOT exempt. Car is very original, evidence of it has been some paint repairs in the past but still shows overall paint thickness consistency and no filler!
I have installed UK specification halogen headlamps and led rear indicators maintaining the original look whilst being UK legal, Edelbrock carburettor and air cleaner, Pertronix electronic ignition, dual stainless-steel exhaust and uprated air conditioning to r134a. Speedometer has been overhauled and calibrated. Original radio retained but internally upgraded with DAB, FM and Hands-Free Phone link, modern speakers fitted but hidden behind original factory mesh grilles. Car very original with updates in the main hidden and to enhance reliability, comfort and safety. Over £13000 spent on enhancing and maintaining the car, see summary in photos. Car undersealed from new and is very clean underside. Interior is in outstanding original condition, see photos.
The car drives very well, has ample room for six people with a luxurious comfy ride. It is not surprising that American’s refer to these full-size car’s as “land yachts”. Car comes complete with many original parts if a future owner wished to take it back to fully “original” specification. There are a selection of new spares, workshop manuals, comprehensive history file from my ownership and a pack of original information from the Pontiac Historical Society included in the sale.
