Description
Rover 9s were made from 1924-1927 and available as tourers and fixed heads, 2 and 4 seats. The engine is 1, 074cc overhead valve, water cooled with pump.
The car includes electric start, 8 day clock, speedometer, all weather side curtains and 5 lights.
Quarter ellipse rear suspension makes for a very comfortable if not exciting ride.
Since John's ownership in 2017 the car has competed in a variety of VSCC events across the country including the grueling overnight Measham Rally. Awards have included 2nd in the Champagne Class for the summer rally at Goodwood, 'Most Meritorious Performance' at the Bowland and 1st in the Brooklands Driving Tests (photographic subject !!!!).
Additionally, under John's ownership the car has had a full repaint using the original method of spraying oil based paint, replacement of woodworm consumed dashboard and bulkhead, full rewire, new battery and engine rebuild. Stainless fixings in BSW/ BSF used where required.
Work outstanding includes restoration of adjustable ignition timing and a waterpump recast.
Car is VSCC light car section eligible. It is a lovely touring car, reliable and comfortable. It has been very good to me but it is time to replace with a saloon.
Spares available for negotiation: 2 engines, axles, springs, gear box, multiple gauges and smaller items.

Car is currently available for viewings in the NE, but will be available to be viewed at Gaydon on 21st March and from then on in Dorset. Built in 1926.
