Description
This is a wonderful example of a well-loved V6 that has clearly been cherished throughout its life.
The car was originally purchased new and remained with its first owners for over 20 years, only leaving the family recently due to the introduction of ULEZ charges, which sadly forced the sale of a vehicle they had owned and maintained for decades.
The condition of the car is genuinely impressive for its age. Both the exterior and interior present extremely well, and it is clear the vehicle has been looked after. The drivers side quarter light panel does have some minor imperfections (light corrosion on roof gully and under window). It starts, drives and performs exactly as it should, the engine runs beautifully and the car pulls strongly, delivering the kind of smooth performance and sound that only a naturally aspirated V6 can provide. Even nicer now I have had all the coils replaced. A beautiful sound.
The vehicle has been serviced regularly throughout its life, with annual maintenance carried out by previous owners and continued under my ownership. Part of the early service history has been mislaid, which I want to be completely transparent about, I am assured it was completed just the book wasn't stamped. For that reason the car is priced accordingly. In my view, with complete documentation it would comfortably sit around £10, 000, but the price reflects the missing stamps and the imperfections on the rear drivers passenger panel, while still representing a very honest and well-maintained example. Since purchasing the car I have kept it garaged through the winter and was considering a move it into professional storage as a long-term keeper. However, it feels a shame for such a characterful car to spend its life tucked away in a bubble, it deserves to be enjoyed.
For context, I also own a Golf R, and while that is objectively the faster car on paper, I have to admit this V6 feels quicker and sounds infinitely sweeter. It delivers a driving experience that modern turbocharged cars simply don’t replicate.
Whether you are looking for a future classic investment, a weekend toy, or simply a great-sounding V6 to enjoy, this is a car that will reward the right owner.
If you fancy an investment, some fun, or both, look no further.
Serious enquiries welcome. No re negotiations, the car is priced to sell.
