Suzuki GSX1100EX 1981
“The fastest standard motorcycle in the world”. That’s not a bad opener in any sales pitch, and it came at a time when motorcycling was all about speed, power and pace. This was the statement made when the GSX1100 was launched.
The all-new 4-valve-per-cylinder GSX1100E hit the market in August 1979; a 100 horsepower, 1074cc missile weighing 243kg.
This 1981 EX model was imported from the USA by DK Motorcycles. Showing 13, 730 miles though cannot be verified. I have gone through the bike which is very original and clearly well cared for. Serviced with new plugs, oil, Suzuki oil and air filters. New battery fitted. The engine protector bars, centre stand and side stand have been powder coated. New engine case decals. NOS choke cable. Carbs stripped, cleaned, and balanced.
I have had all the original bodywork painted, stripes are paint not decals, new tank badges fitted. She has a period 4 into 1 Kerker exhaust which sounds great without being too loud. Comes with original workshop manual.
Overall, the bike looks stunning and really catches attention.
V5 is present and in my name, historic vehicle status as she is over 40 years old.
