Description
1999 Suzuki Bandit 1200S – Fully Built 1300cc Turbo Drag Bike – Serious Competition Specification
This is something very different indeed.
Offered for sale is a 1999 Suzuki Bandit 1200S, extensively modified and purpose-built into a highly specialised turbocharged drag bike. This is not being marketed as a conventional road motorcycle. It is a serious, highly developed competition-style machine featuring extensive engine, turbocharging, chassis, transmission and fuel-system work.
The build is reported to have cost approximately £10, 500, with a collection of receipts supplied to support expenditure. According to the accompanying build notes, the motorcycle has not been used since the engine rebuild.
Visually, it is a proper old-school turbo drag build. The metallic blue bodywork, extended rear end, exposed turbocharger, fabricated intake and boost pipework, external pumps, drag rear tyre and short open exhaust outlets leave absolutely no doubt about what this machine was built to do.
ENGINE & INTERNAL BUILD
The original Bandit 1200 platform has been extensively developed, with the engine reported as:
Bored and stroked to approximately 1300cc+
Hayabusa pistons and connecting rods
Kent performance cams
Heavy-duty valve springs
Upgraded timing chain
High-flow oil filtration
Engine rebuilt
Not used since the rebuild, according to the supplied notes
The Suzuki Bandit 1200 engine has long been respected as a strong basis for high-performance tuning, but this particular machine goes far beyond a lightly modified road bike.
TURBOCHARGING & BOOST SYSTEM
At the heart of the build is a substantial custom turbo installation, reported in the accompanying notes as featuring:
Garrett GT28 turbocharger
Complete two-stage turbo boost system
Currently stated as approximately Stage 1: 200 bhp
Stage 2 noted in the build information at approximately 250 bhp
Custom fabricated turbo manifold
Large-diameter alloy boost pipework
External wastegate arrangement
Custom short-exit exhaust system
Purpose-built induction arrangement
Visible fabricated alloy intake/ plenum system
The photographs really tell the story here: this is a serious, engineered turbo installation rather than a cosmetic bolt-on conversion.
FUEL, IGNITION & OIL SYSTEMS
The supporting systems have also been extensively modified for high-output use, including:
Electric fuel pump
Electric oil scavenge pump
High-flow oil filter
Dynojet kit
High-output ignition coils
Billet carburettor vacuum caps
Custom airbox/ intake arrangement strapped to the cylinders
External pressure regulator and gauge arrangement
Extensive braided lines and custom plumbing
TRANSMISSION & DRAG EQUIPMENT
Built specifically with drag use in mind, the machine is equipped with:
Air-shift system
Air system charged to approximately 130 psi
Lock-up clutch
Billet clutch case
Extended rear swinging arm – approximately 8 inches
Drag-focused rear-end setup
Purpose-built controls and supporting hardware
CHASSIS, SUSPENSION & TYRES

IMPORTANT SALES NOTE
This motorcycle is being sold as a specialist modified competition / drag machine.
Due to the extreme level of modification, high-performance turbo installation and specialist racing equipment, we strongly recommend that any prospective purchaser has the motorcycle professionally inspected, recommissioned, set up and dyno checked before competition or high-load use.
The quoted power figures and technical build details are taken from the information supplied with the motorcycle and should be treated as reported build specifications rather than independently verified figures.
This is not a bike for a novice rider, nor is it being presented as an everyday road-going Bandit. It is a serious piece of modified Suzuki engineering and, for the right buyer, a very unusual opportunity to acquire a 1300cc+ turbocharged Bandit drag build with a substantial amount of specialist work already completed.
