Description
1971 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray Coupé / Chrome model
You know the health risks when you treat yourself to a fast-food burger, chips and a Coke at the local takeaway or the Krone pub – yet you still find it absolutely delicious there and, as a matter of course, go straight for the Big Menu.
And you are surely fully aware that the Chevrolet Corvette C3, when launched in September 1967, was technically based on its predecessor, the Corvette C2, was mass-produced to a standard of quality that was not always beyond reproach, and has since come to populate online marketplaces and US car meets in Germany in vast numbers – yet it remains a design icon and is unreservedly desirable!
We wholeheartedly agree with this, with a clear conscience, and are offering you a very well-preserved example here on behalf of a client:
First registered on 1 July 1971 and one of the last 150 units of the 1971 model year, our Corvette C3, with its 350 cu in V8 engine combined with a 3-speed ‘Turbo Hydra-Matic’ automatic transmission, used to tear up the US highways – at that time still in the factory-standard ‘Brands Hatch Green’ paintwork (colour code 983) and with a beige ‘Saddle’ interior (trim code 417).
Some restoration work was carried out whilst the car was still in the USA, with the work completed following its import to Germany:
Preservation and powder coating of the ladder frame, repainting of the bodywork in ‘Bridgehampton Blue’, retrofitting of a 5-speed manual gearbox from Tremec, and the repair or replacement of faulty parts.
Thanks to regular maintenance and care over the years, this Corvette C3 drives exceptionally well; as a chrome model featuring a vertical, removable rear window, the T-top and an adjustable steering column, it is one of the most sought-after examples of this series.
See it for yourself!
The 5-digit odometer shows a mileage of approx. 82, 150 miles. The MOT can be renewed on request and at an additional cost.
