Description
A great classic bike ready to go.
It's the LS version which has the extra luxuries of an alternator, brake light and rear suspension!
A nice bike to ride, considered a "heavyweight" in the 50s, but compared to a modern bike is remarkably compact and easy to manoeuvre. If you haven't ridden one before it's very similar to a Royal Enfield in its riding position and performance. 350cc single.
Engine: Bottom end rebuilt by T&L last year. Anti wet-sumping valve fitted. Starts easily with the decompressor valve. Amal Monobloc carb.
Gearbox & Clutch: recent new clutch blocks and shock absorber rubbers. Doesn't slip and engages smoothly. Gearbox is 1 up, 3 down and works nicely.
Electrics: Converted to 12v for better charging and lighting. Modern H4 halogen headlamp means it's actually pretty good at night, comparable to modern bikes.
Boyer bransden electronic ignition, no need for adjustments, no condenser failures or dirty points - and starts easily.
Frame and suspension: Nicely made and very solid brazed lugged construction frame. New, good quality rear suspension units. Front teledraulic forks.
Brakes have been adjusted and with recent new cables, as good as you can expect from a 50s bike.
Wheels retrued last year. Decent tyres
Cosmetics: Good, tinware repainted a few years ago with proper coach enamel. Alloy components also looking decent.
It's also got a top box which is a matter of taste but is very handy for longer trips.
If needed I can help with delivery, there is a local guy that I can recommend.
