Description
American import Suzuki T500 1971 with 7623 miles, in Candy Lavender (its original colour). Subject to a full strip and rebuild (except the engine). Replacement of wiring harness, mudguards, saddle, handlebars, rims, spokes, tyres, indicators and footrest rubbers (from California!). All other chrome renewed (except the left silencer which was good). Stainless steel exhaust headers. Stainless steel rims and spokes, with nickel plated nipples, titanium chain adjuster bolts. Alloy hubs polished. Complete frame blasted and powder coated. Carbs ultra sound cleaned and serviced. All new rubber, (bushes, grommets and inlet manifold). New cables. Professional paintwork and ethanol proof lining of the tank. I'm embarrassed to say how much I spent on this project so far (although full paperwork available)! But it kept me busy for a while.
I have run it up. Third kick after I replaced the harness, but will need tuning and oil pump setting up. Currently over oiling deliberately as it hadn't run for 40 odd years. Sounds great.
All paperwork in order with V5C and confirmation and dating certificate from the Suzuki Owners Club. Full photographic record of the restoration. American import purchased from an importer in Scotland at the top of the market!
