Description
Volkswagen Type 2 Bay Window Camper – Restored Classic in Stunning Yellow
A beautifully presented Volkswagen Type 2 Bay Window camper recently resrayed in the original Marinogelb77 with contrasting white roof and bumpers. This classic camper combines vintage charm with practical usability the original Westfalia Helsinki interior, making it ideal for festivals, weekends away, or summer road trips.
The vehicle is left hand drive, as it was originally manufactured for the US market, where it spent most of its life. The bodywork and chassis are almost completely rust free.
The exterior presents exceptionally well, with showroom level paintwork, correct VW detailing, and Porsche wheels. The vehicle suspension has been lowered.
Inside, the camper retains a charming period interior with Helsinki upholstery, wood cabinetry, and new matching curtains throughout. The layout includes a rear bench seat that converts into a bed, a side kitchen unit with sink and storage, cupboards, shelving, and ample interior space. The vehicle has modern DAB and bluetooth radio with a retro fascia. The pop-top roof provides additional headroom and sleeping space, making the van practical for camping trips and longer stays.
The rear-mounted air-cooled 1600 twin carburettor engine is tidy and accessible. It is a refurbished engine which was recently fitted. The engine bay is fitted with an automatice fire extinguisher. The vehicle has been well maintained over the past 15 years with clean engine bay presentation.
This is a characterful, usable classic camper with stunning paintwork that attracts attention wherever it goes — perfect for classic VW enthusiasts, collectors, or anyone looking for a stylish vintage campervan ready to enjoy. This vehicle has been owned by me for the past 15 years and lovingly maintained and restored. It has been used as a family vehicle for camping and festivals. It has been a joy to own and is admired wherever we go but with children now grown up it is time that it found a new home
