We welcome into our collection this lovely unmodified bay window. With only 3 owners from new, the previous owner has had it in their ownership since 1974. They are parting ways due to their many camping adventures being completed and feeling it is time for someone else to take the wheel as it has much love left to give.
It has been meticulously loved and cherished over the past 51 years. Garaged undercover whilst waiting to be unleashed at moderate 50-55mph speeds.
In this time it has had a back and forth life between Germany and the UK having been collected from VW Werk in Hannover in 1971 to come to the UK and then once again collected from London in 1972 by Mr R Anderson (a teacher with a British Forces Monchen Gladback) to return to once again to Germany.
After this game of ping pong it was again finally imported back to the UK in 1978 by Mr A Rhodes (Who was also a teacher with the British Forces Monchen Gladback) and had a new VW factory engine fitted November 1984 and has covered 105048 miles. In the last 3 years it has covered 1233 miles.
The loving owners had this tin top resprayed in its original Pastel White 20 years ago. It also had extensive work done on the underframe and wheel arches 10 years ago with a £5, 000 price tag to join.
All of its fittings are original Westfalia. Included is the canvas bunk bed that fixes over the front seats, rock and roll bed in a gorgeous mustard vinyl, internal and external sockets, a cool box fridge underneath the sink unit, fold down table, the original Blaupunkt radio, and genuine Westfalia awning tent (with sealed in groundsheet). Only the curtains are not original as the genuine Westfalia material was not available.
It holds its original service record book with German garage service stamps and original instruction book. The invoices for all work since 2013 are included and has been serviced and MOT’d for 15+ years by South West Classic VW’s in South Molton, Devon.
Of course as it has been used to see the world so there is some minor wear and tear to the seat covers.
It is tax exempt, ULEZ free and currently holds an MOT certificate until October 2026.
