Description
Selling my Mercedes-Benz W123 300 Turbo Diesel estate (1981).
Right-hand drive, automatic, 7-seater with sunroof, air conditioning and electric package. Finished in a really nice blue colour with blue velour interior — has that proper old-school S-Class feel.
From factory the car came with the OM616 non-turbo diesel engine, but it has been upgraded to the well-known Mercedes OM617 300 Turbo Diesel (with turbo). The conversion was done properly, including the drivetrain parts to have the full original intended ratios.
I’ve been using it as a daily driver, so it’s not sitting around — it’s a car you can actually use and enjoy. Starts, drives, and runs as it should. Very comfortable and practical, especially with the rear seats.
The condition is what you’d expect for its age:
technical, very good, paint has some scratches and small chips, and there is minimal rust on the back door — nothing unusual, just normal wear and tear for a classic.
I’m the second owner. The car was bought new in Ireland in 1981, brought to Cyprus around 2000, and first registered here in 2005. It’s registered as an antique and has a valid MOT.
Selling because the family is growing and I need the garage space.
Overall, a solid and honest classic you can drive daily without any drama. I’m the second owner, and the car has been really loved and well looked after — and it honestly gives that back when you drive it.
What I like most is that it’s not just a “show” classic. You can actually use it every day, enjoy it, and it still feels special every time you get behind the wheel.
At the same time, it could also be a great project for someone who wants to take it to the next level and make a perfect Mercedes-Benz W123 300 Turbo Diesel estate.
It’s one of those cars that works both ways — enjoy it as it is, or turn it into something exceptional.
