Description
An extremely rare MGB on offer, an MGB GT Jubilee Edition from 1975 with just a newly completed MOT, emissions test and Historic Vehicle (H) registration.
Only 751 were produced for the 50th anniversary of the MG marque… all for the British market. Today perhaps around 200 of them are roadworthy. In Germany I know of one other so far. Certificate present.
Car imported from the UK, restoration completed, just MOT renewed including H registration and registered. 37, 500 miles on the odometer…
More photos to follow in good weather…
Very many new parts, the interior completely overhauled, speedometer repaired, rev counter replaced, new windscreen fitted, completely new drum brakes at the rear and brake pads at the front, handbrake adjusted, new starter, the overdrive is repaired and works brilliantly, a real kick in 3rd and 4th gear. If you don’t know the principle, you’ll be impressed….
Electrical system completely overhauled, some new relays, new horns and headlights. All fluids renewed, oiled and greased.
Underbody protection and cavity sealant renewed, all necessary restorations completed, the engine set up very nicely, the GT with its 1. 8 litre runs wonderfully and sounds full… true English understatement.
Newly painted in the original New Racing Green, a special version of BRG (of which there are hundreds of shades…), which was reissued in 1975 for the Jubilee and, together with the gold elements, looks the very essence of British class.
Jubilee confirmation is available, Heritage certificate will be commissioned. The gold stripes I had newly produced in the UK, the V8 wheels (spare included) in gold/ black, the side and rear-view mirrors in black, the Jubilee emblem on the dash identifying it as No. 98 / 751, the original fabric seats, the steering wheel with a gold emblem, the rear badge in gold as well as the front and rear on the rubber bumper with gold emblem, etc. – all elements that make the Jubilee what it is, are present.
I enjoy driving it very much, but will hand it back into someone else’s care if there’s interest, because I also have a Roadster… and mainly to embark on a new project. Some of the lovely MGs from the 60s and 70s to rescue and put back on the road, enjoy a little (or a bit more) to then pass on to someone who, like me, is passionate about one of the most beautiful eras of car design.
I’m open to offers for a new project.
This is a private sale, therefore warranty and returns are excluded. Sold as seen.
