. Due to my age the bike is too heavy to comfortably ride
1979 UK Registered CB550K3. V5 historic vehicle registered.
Bike was sold new, in Luton, was ran for less than two years then poorly laid up with 2000 or so miles on the clock for over 40 years. Bike then, from 2023, the subject to extensive meticulous renovation by two subsequent owners, well over £5K spent. Purchased by current owner in early 2026 as a non runner with the view to finish the restoration.
Bike renovation now totally complete. Runs like new, usually first start on button, no smoke, quiet running, as should be expected from a little used engine
No rust/ patina to be seen. New parts, many sourced from David Silver include, exhausts, Stainless steel spokes/ rims, new hubs, Bridgestone tyres/ tubes, rechroming forks mudguards etc., powder coated frame, new rear shock absorbers, cables, lights, seals etc, etc. Paintwork as new. All to 100% original build specification. Tank cleaned, carbs overhauled with new jets and gaskets, but would benefit from a carb sync.
Extras fitted, crash bars.
The only defects, a repaired, small tear on the seat (see photo) and the steering lock has been gummed up with paint from the powder coating process. As you these locks were fiddly to use, no attempt to recommission this lock has been made , but with care and careful use of the right solvent should be a possibility.
This bike must be seen to be believed, Please see photos but they do not give justice, inspections are welcomed
Many of the original build components (silencers, dampers, lights, mirrors have been kept, all are solid/ serviceable but showing patina/ minor corrosion (see photos) hence not suitable for this pristine project restoration. These can also be offered or may sell separately if not required
This bike is an ideal buy for the person who wants one of the best and most popular 1970s Honda classic bikes in near concours condition and requiring no work.
This a unique bike unlikely to be bettered, hence the above average price
