Description
Put up for sale, this 1973 Squire SS100 by Intermeccanica of Turin is a particularly rare model, with 50 examples manufactured between 1972 and 1973.
It represents a high-end interpretation of the legendary Jaguar SS100, faithfully reproducing its aesthetics while benefiting from a more reliable and usable mechanical package. Unlike many replicas, the Squire SS100 was designed as a coherent and finished vehicle, combining build quality with driving pleasure.
This example is equipped with a 4. 1 L inline six Ford engine (250 ci), developing approximately 100 to 120 hp, paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The tubular chassis and glass fibre bodywork ensure robustness and lightness.
The vehicle shows 14, 071 miles and presents in very good overall condition, both mechanically and aesthetically. It underwent a major restoration between the late 2000s and early 2010s: black and red interior, hand-polished ebony veneer dashboard, and replacement of many mechanical components (shocks, braking system, carburettor, spare wheel).
More recent work included:
- complete wiring loom overhaul in 2022
- routine maintenance and revisions
- cooling system refreshed in 2025
- Magnaflow exhaust system homologated
- rear lights replaced with a more vintage model (reversible modification).
The vehicle is sold with a leather soft top, a very good condition roll-bar, and removable side windows.
Note: a repair is required on the windscreen (threaded rod to be re-secured).
The vehicle is registered in France as a collectible registered (carte grise de collection). The technical inspection has been carried out, the noted issues have been corrected, and a new inspection will be provided for the sale. Dossier, invoices and history available.
This Squire SS100 represents a rare opportunity to acquire a vehicle with iconic styling, both spectacular and usable, ideal for collection, events or pleasure driving.
Vehicle visible in Marseille (France)To me, this Squire SS100 has a special story, as it used to belong to my father. A car enthusiast, he had long dreamed of a Jaguar SS100 but was not able to acquire one. This Squire represented a way for him to access that world, recapturing the aesthetics and spirit of 1930s roadsters, while keeping a simpler, more usable mechanical setup.
It is a car that was chosen with real passion, and it doesn’t leave people indifferent. It naturally draws eyes and sparks conversations, particularly with classic car enthusiasts.
Beyond its rarity (50 examples), what makes it unique is the balance between strong visual presence and real usability. Unlike many vehicles of this aesthetic, it can be driven regularly, making it both a collection piece and a pleasure car.
I hope today it can find a new owner who will fully enjoy it, whether for outings, events or simply the pleasure of driving a car with such distinctive character.
