Description
The original car that sparked the muscle car revolution in the 1960’s.
The car wears the original starlight black paint over a dark blue interior, and power comes from a 389ci V8 with a FiTech fuel injection system and Edelbrock cylinder heads. Other equipment includes a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission, a limited-slip rear end with Moser axles, 15″ American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, front disc brakes, Hotchkis sway bars, a Lokar shifter and an aluminium radiator.
The car has had an engine and gearbox overhaul. We have added a high-quality vintage air system and many other new parts. All receipts are available including a comprehensive service and parts history going back to the 1960’s.
American Racing Torq Thrust wheels measure 15″ in diameter. The power-assisted braking system features discs up front and drums in the rear. Hotchkis front and rear sway bars have been installed.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and secondary gauges in an engine-turned panel.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission with a lockup torque converter and a remote fluid cooler. The rear end features a limited-slip differential and Moser axles.
The car starts and drives perfectly, and we have enjoyed many outings on classic car rallies in and around Dubai. This 1964 Pontiac GTO hardtop was delivered new to Hughes Bros. Pontiac in Santa Barbara, California.
I am a British owner who has a passion for iconic classic cars and imported this car to Dubai in 2022, and a full professional restoration has been undertaken.
The car drives and sounds beautiful, is very reliable and is a pleasure to take out on the road.
I bought the car as it was my birth year but have always had a passion for the original muscle cars of the 60's.
The paintwork has been meticulously restored and this car really stands out and attracts attention at classic car rallies.
This is an original and professionally finished car and the restoration company who undertook the work can be contacted for full information to interested parties upon request. Comprehensive photographs of the restoration process are also available.
