Description
Reluctantly selling my mini cooper MPI (Margret - named after the only other owner). Margret has an MPI engine (multi point injection) making her very reliable and efficient, you will struggle to get less than 50mpg. Other features include: alarm, immobilizer, driver airbag, side impact rails and half leather interior in excellent condition.
A full strip down restoration was done around 8 years ago. (Contact if you want pics). Including replacing all the usual panels, the sills, quarter and A panels, whole front end and rear boot. Also a new rear subframe, blasted and repainted front. The sills were filled with wax oil and drained. Many of the fasteners replaced with stainless steel ones including stainless caliper pistons. Cupronickel brake lines were installed along with a new clutch.
Since being restored Margret has done around 15k miles over the past 8 years. The original wheels are included with a set of mud and snow tyres (used for one trip to the Alps in March 2022). The wheels on the car are new minilites with almost new tyres.
I've tried to include all the imperfections in the photos. There are a few tiny dents, barely noticeable and without damage to the paint: in the passenger door, bonnet (passenger side halfway up), and a few on the roof. The underneath is very clean. I usually wax oil around this time of year but haven't yet so people can inspect. The carpet got a little mouse damage when in storage, while being restored, but it's hard to see it high in the footwell. The dash binacle paint is a little cracked on the sides.
I change the oil every 3k miles and I've only ever used E5 fuel. Recent parts include new heater box, rear shocks and alternator.
You will struggle to find a cleaner example. Priced to sell. I always wanted a mini and when a friend said he knew of a "one lady owner" MPI, that was being sold because the owner had stopped driving a few years ago, I jumped at the chance. Unfortunately the rot had set in, so almost turned it down but in the end I decided to go for it. I managed to get it through an MOT to see if I was really a mini person and loved it. That's when I decided to take the plunge and do a full body restoration. I decided to give her a more classic look and didn't put the arches back, which I think looks great but you can always put them back. Margret always puts a smile on you face when you drive her and a full tank for £25 quid is a bonus on long trips.
