1980 Mercedes 450slc
I am selling this fantastic Mercedes-Benz 450slc This example has been cared for its whole life the car is very solid indeed with no welding ever been done and no need for any welding work. The interior with its all original leather and carpets is in great condition as can been seen in the photos it was completely removed during the refurbishment we undertook after acquiring from the family who had owned from new the two tone camel/ tan leather interior was professionally cleaned and given a fresh leather feed and it complements the fantastic metallic blue paintwork brilliantly this is the most desirable colour combination for these cars in many peoples opinion.
The mechanical work undertaken for getting everything 100% consists of completely refurbishing the suspension including removing and rebuilding the front sub frame with all new suspension bushes, engine mounts, ball joints, shock absorbers, this work has had a fantastic effect on handling and motorway driving. The entire brake system has been rebuilt and refurbished. The power steering is responsive making no noise and benefitting from a fluid change during full service also a new SL shop exhaust system fitted that sounds fantastic. During the full service on the engine a new timing chain fitted plugs and leads also the entire fuel injection system has been rebuilt front to back including removing the fuel filter from inside the fuel tank rebuilding the fuel pump cradle, fuel accumulator, fuel filter, fuel lines, a complete rebuild of the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel distributor warm up regulator (WUR), cold start injector and air flow meter.
The cars vacuum systems are all working as they should as is the cruise control which is fully functioning. The sunroof operates smoothly and as it should with no leaks. The stereo is a retro looking USB unit with a new c- cable connector for mobile phones. The wheels are genuine Penta and were fitted to the original AMG models also as can be seen in the photos a AMG steering wheel is also fitted. I do have the original Mexican hat wheels in great condition and original steering wheel that are sold with the car. Alot of time has gone into the refurbishment of this fantastic example, its a great car to drive, you can feel the luxury of Mercedes-Benz whilst you drive in comfort, it also attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes.
