BMW E36 328i Auto Cabriolet - Fern Green - 26k miles - Family owned 27 years
Regrettably up for sale, we purchased this lovely cab with the idea of putting our own stamp on the best example we could find but decision has been made to keep as factory intended.
Something like this is only original once and the ownership story, service history and specification makes it all quite unique in any case.
June 1998 build with steel lined block (as opposed to Nikasil) in magnificent Fern Green with Anthracite Cloth interior. Highly unusual colour combination with the updated hue that replaced the outgoing Boston Green. Understandby leather is most people's preference but the cloth has survived remarkably well and it's certainly something different. Expect it doesn't get quite as hot as leather and grips a bit better too!
The car has had some paint over the years; more in keeping with the owner's wishes to keep it looking its best. Most probably of a generation where originality wasn't as important to some as it is today. As you can see it presents very well - a small ding in the rear near side wing, that I'm sure a paintless dent guy could attend to, and some wear below the front bumper trim as well as the odd stone chip here and there. Recently machine polished the blue / green paintwork looks fabulous and really pops in the sun.
The interior is a real time capsule. It smells, looks and feels factory fresh with very little to report other than the cloth on the door cards lifting ever so slightly. Hood is in great shape with the rear window clean and clear.
This car was PDI'd by Hughenden Motor Co in the summer of 1998 and would remain with the same family until March of 2026. Initially lady owned before being passed down to her son in 2008. Considering the low mileage its a pleasant surprise to see the car had been used every year and kept moving throughout it's life with 20 stamps in the original service book;

Clearly the car was part of the family and had everything it had needed and more throughout its life. Most of the servicing and replacement parts were carried out by the same garage that would also MOT the vehicle - the correlation between the two is very encouraging and offers great peace of mind to any prospective owner. All paperwork and invoicing present with full book pack, 3 keys as well as remarkably retaining the 'digital' alarm fob from new.
Earlier this year the headliner received some attention and has just had a new hood cable. The last service in September of 2025 saw the coolant flange replaced as well as brake fluid, oil and filter as well as new wiper blades.
Wheels and tyres are in excellent order - Michelin rubber all round. Brakes have plenty of life and the car performs quietly and smoothly exactly as you would expect from low mileage and consistent service schedules over the years.
