Description
For sale is my Honda S800 Roadster Mk1 — an exceptionally rare vehicle
Estimated surviving production numbers of the S800 Roadsters, are believed to sit at approximately 206 Mk1 cars and 202 Mk2 cars worldwide, making these incredibly scarce collector vehicles today.
Values of these early Honda sports cars have increased steadily over the last few years. As appreciation for early Japanese collector cars continues to grow internationally, the S800 is increasingly recognised as one of the most important and desirable early Japanese sports cars ever produced.
The S800’s high-revving four-cylinder engine, lightweight construction, excellent weight distribution, and low centre of gravity made these cars exceptionally engaging to drive and far more advanced than many of their contemporaries.
This particular vehicle presents honestly and well overall, with no visible rust or obvious body issues. The car is largely complete, barring its cylinder head and gearbox, which were unfortunately stolen and later sold as scrap metal.
The vehicle is fitted with a brand-new soft top and, once the missing components are sourced, it would not take much to return the car to running condition.
The vehicle is licensed and registered.
The only reason I would even consider selling this car is due to unforeseen personal circumstances, so please, serious buyers only and no time wasters.
- details above is able to arrange shipping of the vehicle to the United Kingdom for approximately £2, 500, covering all South African-side costs. This excludes UK destination charges, which are approximately £900 and include container unpacking, clearance, and handling. Vehicles of this age also qualify for the UK’s reduced 5% VAT rate, with no import duties payable.
Vehicle located in Edenvale, Johannesburg.
