Excellent condition externally with superb paintwork. The metallic burgundy is, as far as I can tell, the original colour for the car. It has been painted in its life but the current paintwork is excellent with only a couple of very minor chips where you would expect, such as the front bumper overriders etc. Otherwise it has a near perfect shine and is a joy to polish.
Engine starts and runs well, the car drives well and the gearbox changes up and down as it should. Starts first time every time, has a new battery, new alternator, new plugs etc etc. The engine is dressed up a bit with chrome rockers and air filter so looks pretty. The engine bay is clean and tidy and does not disappoint when opening the bonnet. Oil and filters recently changed.
Underneath, the car is solid. No rust showing and no welding apparent. I took it to the local garage and put it up in the MOT ramp. The tester found no issues other than the drop links which I have now changed. Exhausts are all good and make just the right noise.
New front EBC brake discs and pads so it stops as it should without pulling.
New drop links and bushes for the front ARB as these were the only worn bushes I could find whilst under the car. No nasty bangs or rattles and handles as you would expect.
MOT and Tax exempt and also ULEZ exempt as it is classed as a Historic Vehicle.
Great summer car and for shows. I have been to a few and it draws a lot of attention. Most people comment on the amazing colour. It really does pop.
Original alloys that are very clean with the correct BF Goodrich tyres.
The interior is a little tired but still intact. Seats are largely good with no major holes or tears, carpets are new and dash is pretty good. The door cards would be good to recover or replace. Electric windows work. Stereo included in sale.
I have fitted new headlamp actuators and they pop up and work as they should. All other lights are good.
It is a 49 year old American car and as such some of the gauges don't work but the temp and fuel do so the important bits ! Speedo is hit and miss.
In summary the Corvette is a perfectly useable, drivable and enjoyable car. It is honest and roadworthy. With some work on the interior it will increase exponentially in price. It is far above a "rolling restoration" and really only requires a little more love.
Worth noting that I am often asked if it is a Stingray. Well, yes and no. It is a 1977 and in that year they stopped badging as a Stingray but they are the same. I do have a pair of original Stingray badges for it but have not fitted them. Stunning stand out car. Looks amazing. A real head turner and "gives good window" - you know, when you glance at your reflection whilst driving and say to yourself "yeeeees". If you don't know that feeling you need this car !
It has a large folder with some history, receipts and relevant magazine articles etc
