Description
And shall I tell you about the 600 SE from 1991? Surely many of you will think of the car Lady Diana was travelling in at the time of her death; I have memories far more pleasant, always associated with Paris, and that make you think about how high-quality these cars were in the 1990s, and above all the image they conveyed of the Mercedes brand itself, probably even more prestigious than Rolls-Royce itself, or perhaps they were more sober, less flamboyant. They have little elegance, but they give a strong impression of their robustness and reliability. They didn’t come cheap, also because this is the V12 model, and above all, it’s Italian through and through, and it wasn’t used for hire, but for private use, therefore, not for everyone, at the time. This one in particular, besides being a superbly preserved example, even at first sight, has only 56, 000 kilometres from new, and the beauty is that it has always been regularly “maintained”, therefore ready for use, and indeed, while bringing it home, we gave it a proper test, about 200 kilometres in a row without feeling them, but not only for the car, also at the wheel, it was like travelling on a spaceship, truly another world, compared to the cars I normally handle. Surely it isn’t a sports car and not even a true classic, but it has made history, probably among the best-executed cars from the Mercedes marque, or perhaps the perfect mix of robustness, comfort, sobriety, and to avoid offending anyone, also of elegance, certainly not English, but with a strong character. Visible here in Roncade, Treviso. Appointments recommended for visits. Happy Monday to all. Livio
