Offered for sale on behalf of its current owner is this superbly prepared Ferrari 550 Maranello, finished in the highly desirable combination of Grigio Titanio over Rosso hide.
Showing 51, 694 miles, this is a long-standing customer car which has been known to us for many years, giving us a detailed understanding of the car, its history and the level of care behind it.
The 550 Maranello sits among the defining Ferrari grand tourers of the modern era. A front-engined V12, six-speed manual Ferrari from the Luca di Montezemolo period, it represents a particularly special point in the marque’s history — analogue in feel, beautifully balanced, and capable of covering distance with the composure expected of a true Maranello GT.
This example is finished in Grigio Titanio over Rosso hide, a superb colour combination for the model and one which suits the 550’s understated proportions particularly well. The paint colour is also famously associated with the 550 Maranello seen in Bad Boys II, giving the car a subtle link to one of the most memorable modern Ferraris on screen.
Since 2023, the car has benefitted from a substantial programme of mechanical, cosmetic and interior expenditure, with in excess of £35, 000 invested in upkeep, preventative maintenance and presentation. The intention has been clear throughout: to stay ahead of the car, bring the maintenance fully up to date, and present it at a standard in keeping with the best examples available.
The timing belts were changed in January 2026. While this work was being carried out, the opportunity was taken to refresh the engine bay to an exceptional standard. The plenums, cam covers, air boxes, oil tanks and metal trim pieces were all refinished, resulting in an engine bay that presents as though the car has just rolled out of Maranello. It is rare to see this area of a 550 prepared to such a level.
The interior has also received notable attention. The dashboard, airbag cover and instrument binnacle were removed and professionally refurbished by renowned Scottish trim and interior specialist Transcal, addressing the leather shrinkage and bubbling commonly found on these cars. This work has made a significant difference to the overall presentation of the interior and is an important detail on any properly prepared 550 Maranello.
The recent expenditure has not been a case of doing the minimum required. It has been a considered programme of work carried out to bring the car to a very high mechanical, cosmetic and visual standard.
The result is a very well-sorted Ferrari 550 Maranello with meaningful recent investment, a beautifully presented interior, a recently serviced belt schedule and an engine bay prepared to a level rarely seen on the model.
As with any Ferrari of this age, continued specialist maintenance should be expected as part of ownership, but this car has already benefitted from the kind of investment many examples still require.
