Unfinished P1 project Being sold due to being a full time carer for my wife who was diagnosed with Stage 2 Progressive MS 3 years ago . Cars are being sold in order to give her some decent holidays etc. Welcome to the Listing of , my P1 which I bought, years ago, from a guy who was breaking it due to a blown engine. I went to Leicester to buy the bonnet and when I saw it was a P1, I thought it was sacrilege to break and subsequently bought the whole car and trailered it home a few wees later. The car had been stripped of the suspension, brakes, wheels, turbo, seatbelts, rear spoiler, wings etc (I have pics) but the shell was in very good condition apart from someone has cut the lips on the rear arches rather than rolled them (I have a pair of Subie Savers rear arches that I was going to have the arch lips welded into place, that can go with the car. The car is fitted with a DCCD gearbox from a Type R. I do have a P1 Gearbox and diff which can be purchased separately if required. So!, Before I could pick the car up, I needed to source some parts to make it mobile. As luck would have it a guy in Essex was breaking a Rotten P1. I went and purchased, the wheels, Seatbelts, Suspension, Wings, Front bumper, etc etc and then drove to Leicester and fitted them to the car so it could be pushed onto my trailer. In the meantime the buyer for the wings and bumper from #0076 had not paid for or collected them. So I bought them as well! Once back (Those who know me, know I have a collection of Rare Impreza's, all of which are going to be sold). I found a P1 Spoiler on E bay for sale. On contacting the seller it turned out the Spoiler was in fact from my car! The guy had purchased it as a spare. So a trip from Dover to RCM for a meet up and collection of said spoiler happened. I then sourced a VF30 Turbo and a bottom end from a local Subaru garage that had done less than 2000 miles. Being sold as the guy was upgrading to a 2. 5. The heads were removed from the blown engine (It was bottom end issue), checked over, and fitted together by my friend who used to be a spanner man for David and Mark Higgins in their Group N Subaru days and a Subaru main dealer tech. A new clutch was fitted and the car was running! 4 pot front brakes and standard rears were fitted also. Basically, to put on the road as is, I estimate a service with cambelt (age not miles obviously) Tracking, (I would respray to make perfect), Radio and a few odds and sods. It needs a seat belt clip for driver seat which I am hunting for, Plus a remap to match its current configuration. As you can see from the pics, The rear turrets are very good. The front chassis plates are not crushed. I put a but of WD40 on them so they can be seen and not freshly undersealed. All in all, the bodyshell seems very solid. I know I will probably regret the sale in the future, but my wife comes first and me being 65, and a full time carer, means its very unlikely I will get it finished.
