Mercedes E220 CDI Estate (2006/ 56 plate) for sale as a non-runner. Well-presented car with a tidy body for its age and plenty of good parts. Interior is in decent condition and the car has clearly been looked after over the years. Unfortunately the engine has failed and is assumed to be beyond repair although I have not investigated further. (a bit gutting as I only had it for a matter of months and paid quite a bit for it). The vehicle is therefore sold as a non-runner and will need to be transported. Turn the key and nothing happens. The car was recovered and suffered some damage during loading, resulting in a bent inner tie rod, and minor marks on both bumpers. It also has a collapsed air suspension. Despite these issues, this is an increasingly sought-after Mercedes estate with many valuable components. Ideal for breaking, export, engine conversion, or as a repair project for someone with the time and knowledge. It is a nice estate car, spacious and comfortable. As with most large Mercedes estates it was a pleasure to drive, has all the usual refinements of a Mercedes, and as with the previous generations of large estates the W211 has the potential for future classic status. It certainly has the elegance, and reminds me of a friends W123 mercedes I drove 25 years ago, in a way that the newer W212 doesn’t quite.
