A very usable and mechanically well-sorted 1991 Peugeot 205 GTI 1. 6, with just over 87, 000 miles and an excellent history file including the original bill of sale.
I’ve owned the car for nearly three years and have spent considerable time and money recommissioning it mechanically, with the aim of making it a reliable and enjoyable GTI to use and take to shows.
Recent work includes:
* New cambelt, water pump and thermostat
* New radiator
* Refurbished injectors and airflow meter
* New starter motor and alternator
* New front discs and pads
* New rear drums, shoes and handbrake cable
* New master cylinder
* Refurbished rear beam
* Bilstein dampers all round
* New front springs
* New tyres
* Stainless-steel exhaust system by PD Gough
The underside is excellent and rust-free, and the car has always been garage stored.
The interior remains original, with the driver’s seat professionally refurbished using the correct material.
The car is otherwise original apart from the bronze-finished wheels and stainless exhaust. The wheels were recently powder coated and are fitted with new tyres.
There are some minor dents to the bodywork which could be addressed by a specialist if desired, but overall this is a very tidy and, importantly, mechanically well-sorted example.
It drives very well and is ready to be enjoyed rather than needing a long list of recommissioning work.
