Royale 18A SuperVee - 1974 - Much Modified In “Shadow” liveryOriginally a Huntingdon built 1974 Royale 18A Supervee, VW type 4 engine powered racing car. This car was one of four commissioned and send straight to the USA to be raced in the Supervee Indycar feeder series. In 1975 many of the cars started using the water cooled VW unit from the new ‘Rabbit’ hatchback. So at some point the car was extensively modified to be used in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Auto solo II events, the engine having been extensively reworked, Six barrel studs (2 extra) Porsche barrels and pistons and highly modified heads and valves - taken out to approx 2. 8L in capacity. Theaddition of a 1. 8L B&M supercharger and a Holley ‘double-pumper’ carburettor, running methanol was allegedly producing more than 250 BHPThe car also gained some very extravagant aero to hold it to the ground. The car came back to the UK in 2018.
