Please note that this is a PART-FINISHED PROJECT.
The car was imported from South Africa in about 2013 and registered by us in the UK in 2014.
She was driving well and being used and enjoyed by us until a few years ago when the restorations started. Since then, we have spent over £10k on her.
She now has all new floor pans throughout and all structural welding has been completed, and has been stripped back to bare metal before having an excellent paint job by a very good local workshop.
We've purchased a new exhaust system and all new window rubbers, plus various bits and pieces along the way, eg new tyres, a new sill, etc. We have lots of paperwork and receipts for all of this, including the work done.
The reason for the unfinished project is that our circumstances have changed, one of the owners having moved away from the area, and we feel we have spent more than enough money getting her to the stage she is now at.
What's left to do?
The car is complete, barring a couple of minor items which have been mislaid at the workshop but which can be purchased online.
She now needs to have the interior refitted, seats, internal trim, etc, and probably new carpets made up, though we have the originals for templates.
The window glass needs to go back in, door cards and furniture installed and the seats bolted back in.
New exhaust system (included) needs to be fitted and petrol tabk and the engine checked and recommissioned (she was running well just before the restoration started).
All the newly-painted panels and doors are back on and well aligned by professionals.
Please note that some of the pictures are taken before the restoration and show the car as she was in a lighter silver colour - the pictures of her now are a slightly darker gun-metal silver. This model was not commonly available in the UK at the time of manufacture and us such, is not only rare but unusually to find in right-hand drive, as this one is being from South Africa.
She's a very pretty car and looks very elegant on the road.
