Galvanised SLC Acadiane specific chassis.
150% uprated suspension springs made to order. Uprated original shock absorbers.
Front suspension arms caster corrected for lowered driving, new king pins with ‘Belgian arm’ reinforcements to eliminate king pin wear.
Rebuilt front brake calipers with new seals, new rear shoes. SKF wheel bearings all round.
Citroen GS X1 wheels (quite rare and slightly wider than Acadiane wheels) with 175/ 65 Uniroyal Rain expert tyres.
The van required some welding even after sitting for 18 years in a dry warehouse, so it received the following:
Mid to lower windscreen frame panel and inner scuttle,
Lower bulkhead from the firewall downwards,
Front floor panels and repairs to the sills,
Repairs to the front load bed cross member.
Repairs to the top hat section down the sides of the van.
Replacement side locker door and fuel tank cover.
The repairs were epoxy primed before painted in 2K in original Alaska white.
The van isn’t perfect and the rest of the paint work isn’t great, but it’s extremely useable and the body is solid. It will want a set of doors in the future but it has never concerned me. The front seats have been re-upholstered with new foam, rubber bands and new covers.
The door cards will need replacing to really tidy it up.
I’ve also fitted a leisure battery in the side locker with a split charger and a couple of 12v sockets behind the seats. It’s been quite useful for powering a small fridge box whilst camping. If the stiffened / lowered suspension and wide tyres aren’t your cup of tea. I have all of the kit to convert it back to the original set up. Just send me a message to discuss this. This is a great opportunity to own an eye catching van with modern power. It easily cruises at motorway speed and will climb any hills without breaking a sweat.
