A beautiful 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria with known history stretching back to new.
This car remained within the same Texas family from 1956 until 2014. The original owner purchased the car brand new in Texas in 1956. Although he changed his Ford every ten years thereafter, he never parted with this Fairlane and retained it until his passing. The car then passed to his brother, who later sold it to a dealer in Cleburne, Texas, from whom I purchased the car in 2016 and shipped her over to Malta.
Interestingly, after another ten years of ownership ending in “6”, the time has now come for a new custodian.
The car was reportedly seldom used between 1966 and 2013/ 2014, when it underwent a restoration while carefully retaining its original factory colour scheme.
When purchased by me, the car was already in very good condition, and notably the underside still retained its factory finish with no added paint. The underside was later painted black purely as a corrosion-prevention measure during the installation of a new suspension system.
In 2022, a fully reversible X2 Industries air ride suspension kit from the USA was professionally installed. The original setup can be reinstated if desired.
The car runs smoothly and reliably, with no known issues.

I bought this Fairlane because I wanted an honest, original 1950s American car with a genuine history rather than an over-restored example. Finding a car that had remained in the same Texas family for almost sixty years, with its story known from new, is exceptionally rare.
What appealed to me most was that the car had never lost its identity. Even after its restoration, it retained its original colour combination and much of its authenticity. When I purchased it, the underside still showed its factory finish, which says a great deal about the condition of the car before any kind of works were carried out.
The reversible air ride suspension was fitted simply to make the car more enjoyable and to give it a subtle custom touch, while ensuring it can easily be returned to its original specification if a future owner prefers.
My favourite thing about this Fairlane is its character - it attracts attention wherever it goes, not because it is loud or extravagant, but because it is an elegant example of mid-1950s American Ford design with a wonderful history behind it.
After ten enjoyable years of ownership, I feel it is the right time for someone else to become the next custodian and continue its story.
