Description
1992 Volvo 940 Manual – Rust Free – Daily Driver – Long MOT Sept 27
For sale is my 1992 Volvo 940, which is currently my everyday car.
It's covered just over 208, 000 miles and has never let me down. It starts first time, runs perfectly and is still being used daily, so the mileage will increase slightly.
Finished in white with a black vinyl roof, it's a really honest, tidy example and increasingly hard to find in this condition.
Over the time I've owned it I've spent a lot of money getting it right rather than just keeping it on the road. Recent work includes:
Full service
New wheels and tyres
New exhaust
New handbrake
Full inspection by a trusted local mechanic who specialises in classic cars
Apple CarPlay head unit fitted
The bodywork is completely rust free and the paintwork has been refreshed. Anyone who knows these cars will know how unusual it is to find a 940 without the usual rust issues.
The interior is in excellent condition for the age of the car. Seats, trim and dashboard are all in great shape and everything works as it should.
The car has been converted to a manual gearbox which completely changes the way it drives. It feels much more engaging and suits the car perfectly.
It's not a project, doesn't need recommissioning and isn't a car that's been dragged out of storage for sale. It's driven regularly and I'd happily get in it tomorrow and drive anywhere in the country.
In the interest of being completely honest, the only issue is that the speedometer occasionally sticks around 45mph * SPEEDO NOW WORKING*. I've never bothered fixing it because I use the GPS speed display through Apple CarPlay, which works perfectly. Apart from that, everything functions as it should.
These old rear-wheel-drive Volvos are becoming harder to find every year, especially rust-free, usable examples that haven't been neglected.
I'm in no rush to sell and would much rather it go to somebody who appreciates what it is.
Viewings welcome and any inspection encouraged.
