I’m selling my 2015 640d M Sport. It has a very high specification including 20inch alloys, sunroof, head up display, Harmon Kardon speakers and electrically adjustable heated front seats to name a few. I was seduced to buy the car from a friend not too long ago but as much as I love it, it’s just not practical (my teenage kids don’t enjoy hauling themselves in and out of the rather cosy rear seats!). Over the first six years of its life the car covered about 130k miles under one owner; used mainly as an motorway cruiser. There’s plenty of evidence indicating a high level of maintenance was carried out. After changing hands, it covered about 15k miles over the next 5 years; lovingly used as a second/ occasional car. There’s less evidence of maintenance over this period but I was assured that it was used as a cherished weekend vehicle and at the very least, received an annual oil change (together either anything else it needed) with its mot. I can confirm this was done this year. The critical item of maintenance to note is the timing chain replacement (together with various peripherals) in August 2022 when it was on 138k miles. I have the receipt for this work. The engine and gearbox are in perfect working order - the engine pulls strongly and the gearbox shifts cleanly. The car’s interior and exterior bodywork is also very clean. All of the electrics work as they should. The main expense I’m aware it’s likely to need over the next year or so are new tyres. Overall, it’s a lot of car for not too much cash. With a little bit of TLC, there’s still plenty of life left in this old bird!
