Welcome to my listing of Black Betty , my 1988 Corvette C4 Convertible. Power by the famous small block Chevy , in 5. 7ltr or 350ci form , with factory fuel injection and the very reliable HEI ignition ( not the troublesome opti-spark )4 speed Auto, Electric seats , factory A/ C ( un-tested ) and manual folding roof and 80’s-tastic digital dash. I purchased her just over a year ago as a stalled project car that had been imported into the Uk back around the year 2000. She was brought over from Arizona by the previous owner, who was a Vette specialist, as a personal car from his wife, but the car was never used and just stored in a dry warehouse and run occasionally to keep it all moving . They also sourced a huge amount of brand new parts as they planned to make the car mint … these parts are still with the car and will be sold with it. Since owning her I have :Converted the lights to UK spec. Replaced all 4 tyresReplaced the brakes and hosesReplaced 2 wheel bearings Replaced various ball joints and bushes Fixed the cooling fan, The body is in very good condition - with no evidence of damage or repairsChassis is clean and rust free - having driven minimal miles and having never seen rain since entering the countryPaint is mostly good , with a few stone chips and minor cracks in the front bumper. However as with the previous owner I then became very busy with work ( I own and run a Classic Car Repair business) and I put a cover over it and pushed it into a corner for when I had more time ….. fast forward 12 months , i am still mega busy and beyond moving it around and driving it around my yard , I haven’t really been near it . So it’s time for it to find a new home and let someone enjoy the summer. It runs, drives , stops & steers as it should ….. almost everything works…….. I did manage once to try for an MOT but it failed on the handbrake! .. I have not had a chance to look at it or try again so that’s where it is . As I said there is a large amount of brand new parts that come with the car and could be fitted to make it a really nice example or you could just fix the handbrake and get an MOT and enjoy the summer with minimal work. The car is located near Nairn , close to Inverness Airport in North Scotland - I personally know a couple of local shippers so shipping can be arranged at your cost. I may consider a cheaper classic as a P/ X please get in touch.. Epic American Muscle car , but easy to live with and drive.
